Ruling class wants to ban bitcoin because it doesn’t like the idea of their power being changed or challenged.
I don’t think there are any negative effects of using crypto but there are regulation issues if you want it as a world currency.
The harm bitcoin does is to classic banking systems and taxes of the government.
