The right place? It depends on what you want to discuss about. The forum has quite a number of boards where the topics can be created/discussed. The reason for this is that people will keep track only of the areas of interest.

Since you didn't ask any newbish Bitcoin question yet  imho for now the topic is not really "Beginners & Help", instead it seems more suited for Off-Topic or maybe Politics & Society.
