We do not have full context of what happened on the story however I wonder what some people are thinking when they have those kind of reactions to their partners? As an example I do not know anything about the law, if for some reason I found myself with the need to hire a lawyer I would do so and listen to their advice and follow it, I will not tell them I know more than them and try to impose my views, I could give some feedback but that will be it.

I have found that it is not a bad practice to take the counsel of any specialist, whether we are referring to lawyer, doctor, mechanic, plumber, financial consultant, nutritionist, or other kinds of supposed experts with a decently-sized grain of salt.

Sure, if you do not know shit about a particular topic, then you should be exercising quite a bit more deference to the purported expert... but yeah, at that same time, it would not be good to get too far over your skiis in terms of questioning about shit that you have no clue about or if you are suffering from dunning-kruger syndrome.. you gotta be careful of that.. for sures.

Thanks. Married a Mexican cutie 28 years my junior in February 2020 after being with her for about a year.

Old-fashioned girl... understands the differences between men and women. Also smart... knew about Bitcoin when it was worth a buck but couldn't do anything about it at the time. We'd already been together some time before I told her I was a hodler and it blew her mind.

When it was worth a buck, couldn't or wouldn't? Even in Mexico, there must have been some exchanges accessible to buy a few bucks. That's everyone's story though ... everyone knew about Bitcoin when it was a buck.

Ultimately that seems to be a fair point, Dabs, even though it may be coming off as a wee bit harsh (who am I to assert what might be harsh and not?... hahahahahha).

The essence remains that action seems to be the thing that really counts because purely knowing about bitcoin, seems to be insufficient, but instead, what actions did you take or attempt to take to get a stake in the matter, even if it is merely a small stake.

By the way, in late 2013, when I really heard about bitcoin (beyond merely the name), there were already exchanges that were available.. including Local Bitcoins that could be used (almost anywhere) to set up some buy/sell relations.

At around a buck, wouldn't that have been 2011?

From what I can see on the charts, most of 2012 we had like $4 to $12 bitcoins, but wasn't there a rise and a subsequent crash in there from $32 to $2?..,

Anyhow, part of my point is that there could be some actual explanations in regards to difficulties getting bitcoin and whether someone might want to wire money to Japan.. and I am not sure if I would have been willing to do that, if I had known about it.. so for me it was helpful to already have some buy and sell infrastructure in place, even if it might not be close to as advanced as today.. ... so it is difficult to put yourself into someone else's shoes unless knowing what options might have been available and maybe how far the other person(s) may have taken measures to investigate various options that could be possible and reasonable when looking back to 2011, 2012 and even early 2013...
