  • I think any individual should be able to act as a bank as long as they do not lend more than the Bitcoin they have on reserve.
  • Given that Bitcoin is sub-dividable to ~ 1700 trillion  remaining units, I see no reason for fractional reserve lending.

Fractional reserve enabled banks to be the most profitable business on the planet, earning 50-%++ yearly interest on their reserved money.   You have to be kidding me that they got away with this unnecessary theft for so long.
