In the end, no one remembers about such an innings. He even failed to get himself a century. According to the records, India managed to beat England by 7 runs. How they managed to do that is inconsequential. I would say that it was another close match, which England failed to finish properly. The target was not that far for England. With 3 overs remaining, they needed 27 runs. But two tight overs from Hardik and Bhuvneshwar changed the course of the match, before Natarajan finished it.
The England selectors and the team will remember the innings Sam Curran played and that will boost their lower order batting strength and it shows that even if the middle order fails they have depth in the batting line up who could challenge any team and with T20 World cup played in India it will give the selectors an option to pick him in the squad.
Sam Curran is not a player who should play at number 8 because in IPL he was coming at number 3, 4 and 5 and got great success to the team and individually even though CSK didn't make it into playoffs. So they should give a balancing team instead of including every batsman who may not fit into that batting position.
