No, I guess you didn't understand the idea of the tread. You can stake anytime an address, the earlier you do it the better it is. You can also stake a few addresses in case you loose control of one of them spreading the risk is always a good approach.
Doesn't really matter the address you stake ( as long as it's not some shitcoin address) if you can sign a message from it than you are all good.
This again is not mandatory, it's only to improve your security.
