Can someone please explain how does locking/unlocking chips in the Vault works?

Yesterday, seeing that my balance was small, I decided to unlock my 2.5 chips to hve more to play with.



So I did. And it looked like it went fine at first



but I didn't see any increase in my balance. And even today my balance is still the same as it was before the unlocking.
