Do the players get the same payment if they play or not, if so Imran Tahir is doing fine as he is a sort after spinner in any other franchise cricket and he is stuck with CSK for a long time and when ever he gets the opportunity he usually performs well if i remember correctly and Moeen Ali is another player who will be an automatic selection in any other team because of his batting exploits and his bowling ability.
I do think these players are getting paid even if they are not in the playing eleven if not they would have requested for a release long back

.Yes. They get paid the full amount (as per the contract), even if they don't get selected for even a single match. But the condition is that they should be "available for selection". If someone is injured, or unavailable due to some other reason (similar to what happened to Suresh Raina in IPL 2020), then they need to forfeit the salary. So for players such as Tahir, it means that they may get money for not doing much work.
