... the realised they needed someyhing new and shiney to distract noobs getting drawn into real btc by the bull run adoption wave while they scoop up cheap corn and dump their dirty fiat

... clearly they couldn't just come right out and call it the New Fucking Thing so in an inside joke about their other plans to attempt at destroying bitcoins fungibility they called their last co-op and switch plan Non Fungible Tokens.
