None of the jwcplanet logos were uploaded. Am I missing something - we did not include them in the process?
I am not sure why this happened, but the owner of this process should have uploaded them.
I will donate to open the contest up to include them.
This is not right to have wasted that work in the process.
You can see the list of the 36 designers here:
https://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/bitcoin-logo-design-next-dogecoin-karmacoin-362189/designersAs you can see there are nearly 200 designs that will not win the contest. This is not "waste" but part of the process of discovering the logo that best suits our needs, goals, and market.
6 out of the 36 were shortlisted for the finals. Unfortunately, jwcplanet was not one of the finalists. (And each designer uploads their own files.)
Please refer to the two links above (in the quote block) for more info on the reasoning I used to select the finalists. If you feel the contest is being conducted in a biased and unfair way please let me know and we can discuss ideas as to how the process can be improved.
During the finals the factor that most weights the judging of the contest is the result of the various surveys being conducted (that I am paying for out of my own pocket, by the way, along with the contest itself). I have detailed that in post #3601, above. I will not select a winner because 1) I think their design is the best; 2) I know the designer; 3) the designer is cute; 4) the designer could really use the cash, or whatever.
You're free to begin a contest if you'd like. The cost is $299-$1,379 for logos. It's a pretty nice system, and I can give you some tips if you'd like. But I am curious to see how a new contest could be done in a more transparent, fair, open, an unbiased way than the current one. I am always open to new ideas.
I appreciate jwcplanet's past, present, and future designs and hope to see additional designs (and I am sure he/she has appreciated all of the donations received for them).
