DMD had PoW during initial release that's the best way to do it because the coin gets widely and fairly distributed because miners need to sell to cover electricity costs. Changing to PoS down the road is a good way to do it and now the next evolution in DMD v4 is quite impressive. There are some worries in US about SEC going after ETH, LBRY and other crypto calling them securities. What's the worry for DMD v4? We are definitely under the radar but will v4 be truly permissionless?
it is code is law and not some human controled way to distribute coins
no permission required only key ownership of a v3 address with a balance at snapshot
i need to own DMDv3 u need to cryptpgrafic sign a message with desired target address on v4 chain
and then u get snapshot balance of v3 on v4 send to ur desired target address
all this is done with a dapp that is open source u can run on ur own computer no need to interact with anthing other then the blockchain and open source code executed on ur own device
i see that as permissionless
