Sometimes it is not greed though but also a fear to lose more. Chasing losses as they say, so this is very different from greed where the motivation is to make more profit.
I consider this as being greedy in gambling, your mindset tends to push more if you're too focus on your loses and greed will come telling you to chase that losses hoping that you can win it back. In gambling there's no way to always win, so you must know when to stop to avoid further losses and to protect your big wins.
Everyone probably knows these guys who say "once I win big I go home and never play again" but that's most likely not going to happen.
Adrenaline rush for sure especially if you don't have a plan before you gamble so you tend to continue playing hoping that you might win another jackpot but a the end of the day, you lose all your money and the worst will happen. We can't continue playing for just a hope, if you the big jackpot better to stop gambling for that day.
