Well that's obvious, but I posted that message before the new windows client was uploaded 
As long as you didn't actually use the old client yet then cool.
Once you get the new client set up (and backup your wallet.dat) then try my blockchain download (about 150 MB) with the instructions I posted and let everyone know how it goes.
