yes, for those who gamble only for entertainment and pleasure, to be precise only for those who have a lot of money, he will not feel worried if he loses in gambling. of course they are able to take responsibility for the consequences of the risks that will be faced. Most people who make gambling their source of income will easily give up when they experience losses and will not be satisfied if they get a few wins.
That's why gamblers should play with money that they afford to lose, never gamble with borrowed money or hot money what I mean is it will be used on other things or to buy daily stuff. I suppose it's fine if sometimes do gamble on purpose to earn but to fully rely on gambling as of the earning incomes are the wrong mindset.

Situational awareness is a must, because most of the time what we start for fun leads towards disaster. Myself too never had the thought of making big money out of gambling, but the winning made me spend more and more. Finally when I've lost everything I don't have any other way to get it back. This is where we do stupidity. Taking a break and analysing well with alternate plans is the wise choice.
When we got winning many times, that can lead us to spend more and more because winning is satisfying and we want to have those feelings. I think that is happening to many gamblers and we end up losing all of the money and can not recover the losing money. So remember, when we can win for some rounds, taking a break will be the way for us to lowering the tension because of the winning before. By doing that, we can think clear of what we will need to do and save the winning money.
Not just winning makes people increase their bets but also losing. It is not just about winning or losing in gambling but it is about being responsible. You need to stop when you feel it is enough and you will not tolerate your own rules. Gambling is just a sort of entertainment. If you take it too serious, you cant afford the negative outcome (the worst can be the same as OP' story)

There is a simple way to be a responsible gambler: Set your daily limit. Ex: you will only gamble 20$ a day and stop when you lose $20

Everybody knows the daily limit but from saying it to implementing it is a huge gap. Many people can't stick to it although they set a daily limit. They get mad when they lose this limit and say I just want to hit a few more spins and quit but this leads them to losing everything.
