I follow this thread from the beginning and as far as I understand, OP wants to create a website by himself. He is a beginner in web development, for now, he just wants to learn more about web design technique. Also, is aware that a professional website will not come from the first version.
it is always the best solution and the easiest to hire experts, but sometimes people want to learn something new.
I guess OP is lost in vain. He wants an elegant and responsive design but on wordpress and he isn't capable of doing this by himself.
OP, I suggest you to have a look at themes on Themeforest or Envato Elements (or always check if anything you liked on Themeforest is available on Envato Elements cause this last one offers you unlimited access on their products for $16.50 months.
With the help of elementor, you can modify templates more likely the way you wish. I guess what you want is just a
"landing page", so, html/css can be enough for you and you don't need to stick with wordpress.
