A futures contract is an agreement between two parties(Traders) to buy or sell a currency at a predetermined price at a specified time in future So it's a little different from the traditional spot market
Each contract also known as a share can represent 1 USD, 50 USD, 100 USD or even 1 BTC. It all depends on an exchange.
Perpetual futures contracts have no expiry date unlike traditional futures contracts, so you can hold your position for as long as you want
