It starts...FourOhFour pays out
404 FOF per block ...usually... we should probably mention: sometimes, blocks don't pay anything at all. It seems that when we went to code this coin, we ran into "anomalies" that caused a block's coins to go into the
nether. We don't know where they end up, but we can definitely say that about
14.04% of the time, a block comes up empty.
What's more strange is that these missing coins
zap back into existence at random times. Occasionally, some of these blocks will double up, leaving the recipient with
808 FOF once in a blue moon. These things happen when you use dark magic to build compile your source.
We expect this trend to continue, and become more unstable over time. The collective power of the coin will thrash, causing payouts to become more and more rare, and, in our estimates, there will be no payouts at all after
ten years. We've compiled a table of expected stability loss, which you can
find here.
The gritty:We're huge fans of the crypto community, and we wanted to give back a coin that was unique and fun. We've reserved
3% of the coins to use to give back to you. We've set up a number of
