I never thought that you would be playing that slot, I kinda avoid most of the Red Tiger's slot because it kinda has lower volatility compared with Relax's slot. Totally got your point there but yeah it could be there for nothing and so far there is currently no plan to make chips into token yet so that button has no purpose at all. I honestly still has hope that someday we might be able to sell all those chips lol
Actually, you are right, I prefer playing high volatility slots, dice with less than 1% win chance, and in sports betting I more often than not bet on the underdog, in order to either lose my bet or win with a good multiplier. It's just this particular slot, Rocket Men, I enjoy playing I don't know why. Btw, not all Red Tiger slots have low volatility, check out Mega Pyramid, if you like high volatility slots you may like it.
Regarding chips, I'll cite @efialtis below, for those who missed it:
The "Vault - Lock/Unlock Chips Feature" wasnt just implemented for fun but for future use when you/we will be able to trade chips. Right now, there is indeed no point in doing so but I thought I would share with you that it`s not just a fun gimmick. 
Unlocking coins in the vault normally comes with a little delay before you will be able to claim your chips and sell them - this is to prevent too many people unlocking due to market fluctiuations.
Long story short: Chips will become tradeable sooner or later and that`s why this feature will be needed.
