Indeed, it hasn't had a big impact because there are alternative payment methods that are more consistent as you mentioned, but in this 21st era we need privacy for the transactions we do in the digital world, I don't mean to make illegal transactions such as buying weapons or drugs, but there are sometimes we need a really simple payment method and use a relatively cheaper fee.
Cryptocurrency opens the door to transactions between businesses around the world more easily and quickly. Call it Litecoin, we know that Litecoin is not Bitcoin, but the existence of Bitcoin led to the emergence of Litecoin. With Litecoin I can make payments to several merchants with zero fees and make transactions in seconds.
It's more than just convenient, it's also really easy and simple. This means that the existence of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency really helps encourage our economy to increase even more.
If there is no Bitcoin, I am not here and I am not discussing it with you here.
Without Bitcoin we wouldn't had the possibility to send money across borders at a fraction of the cost. Despite current high fees and slow transaction processing times, Bitcoin is still better than a wire transfer. Altcoins like Litecoin and Dogecoin are even much better than Bitcoin in this regard, making them extremely versatile for day-to-day payments. I couldn't imagine how you'd live without Bitcoin, being subject to the rules of central banks and governments alike.
Of course, most people still haven't heard about Bitcoin up to this date. They're living their lives as usual with Fiat by their side. But they'll be searching for an "exit route" once central banks collapse altogether with the ever-rising inflation rates. If Bitcoin didn't exist, there wouldn't be a way for people to protect themselves from a global economic collapse. Kudos to Satoshi Nakamoto for making Bitcoin a reality back in 2009. It's a decade later, and Bitcoin is still going strong as sound money for the whole world to enjoy. Who knows how far Bitcoin will go the more popular it becomes in the mainstream world? Just my thoughts
