You do realize that he is the catalyst that made the hype possible, right? If it was another person that has no influential power when it comes to technology, not a lot of people would've listened. But if it's someone who has a great background and has something to show as result, like Elon Musk, it's going to get viral and hyped for sure.

I guess now is some kind of a turning point within the crypto space that Elon has started yet again, with all the environmental issues that Bitcoin has and looking for "that" alternative. The hate is going and a lot of petitions are coming in too.
