The ubiq wallet looks like what you would use to hold Geocoins without doing any geocoin hunting. If you want to hunt you would have to sign up since it looks like it is in closed beta still, then they would give you a link to the app. My guess, only a guess, is that because of geospoofing issues they may have some closed code in the app to help find spoofers, and of course non open source code does not work for most crypto types. Just a guess, speculation.
Did not know about that augmented reality coin. It does look well funded and organized but would probably have the same spoofing issues, even if they are camouflaged by augmented reality.
The ideal for a coin involving geocaching is strictly real world data, like geocoin. Geocaching is a real sport, people hike out to spots and place or move or retrieve real objects. Virtualizing the cache as a coin doesn't change any of the facts of the world.
Using augmented reality to create a virtual world within a small part of the real world is a pretty big step down, away from real world. Not as bad as a completely vr world, but ideally people should be led to the real world, not an augmented or virtual one.
On the other hand, for investors or speculators that coin does look attractive. Decentraland has done well and as countries harden their borders and commodity prices increase, artificial worlds offer a 'bread and circuses' escape which are likely to be promoted by governments. Google and big corporations have a longterm edge in that, but since Google is already such a monstrousity, basically an extension of the U.S. government, small ar and vr companies are likely to be tolerated.
