Social distancing should not lead to social isolation, so talk to your friends and peers and discuss your gambling problem with them. Having support can make a big difference. [/li][/list]
While this is completely correct at the same time it is very difficult to implement for someone that is on the verge of getting addicted to gambling, your loved ones are the best support system that you can possibly have however when people lose so much money they get embarrassed and instead of telling their family members they hide it so they fail to receive their support as externally there does not seem to be any problem unlike what happens with alcoholics and drug addicts, so this creates an scenario where they want to gamble even more as they want to recover their money with nefarious results.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately, the lack of support from loved ones can result in the worst consequences in cases of gambling addiction. They eventually end up destitute and homeless. Destitution is the common story for many gambling addicts as there is no sense of dignity or pride left in them. In a nut shell, they get an addiction because they lack something in their lives and what do they do when they are without money and jobs and when the addiction consumes them, they get helplessness and they lose their life!
