This is a rule that many coin holders put as an advantage, but a disadvantage. When half of the quantity supplied is closed, this means that the price will decrease and not vice versa.
Take bitcoin as an example. Initially a lot of coins were distributed and supply decreased after that.
When you put more than half of the supply closed, when the price rises, it will make the possibility of a price collapse in the event of any decline higher.
