Regarding Natural News, here's why they are good. If nothing else, the prompt people to ask questions that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
There might be all kinds of goofy websites out there, that suggest things we wouldn't have thought of, but almost all of the time NN presents things that are, at least, possibilities... and most of the time they have links and a bibliography to the things that they talk about so that you can check out the sources.

The Bible is easy enough to read that almost anybody can understand it. Nobody understands science. For example, scientists don't understand what electricity is really about... and can't, until they at least accept the existence of the aether.
