OG being the previous TI champions doesn't have any bearing with the current DPC season as they've changed the format for direct invites but they'll still get an invite to the TI EU qualifiers because they've participated in the upper division and same goes for the other teams that participated in the lower division.
So what is their status that OG is in? Are they in the TI or not because that would be a bit shitty for Valve to not invite OG in the International.
As far as i know OG is not yet qualified for TI and they will probably not be able to directly qualify for it because only the top 12 teams of the dota pro circuit ranking will receive a direct invite and OG is currently only at position 34 of that list so they won't reach position 12 anymore. The remaining 6 places for TI are determined through the regional qualifiers. Only the best team of every region that is not yet qualified through the dota pro circuit ranking will go to TI. This means OG must be better than Team Liquid and Nigma for example which will be very hard as both teams are stronger than OG at the moment.
