They are still in possession of the tokens mined by players which means they can actually burn them all if they wanted but that would be the worst decision they will make. It will ruin their reputation that they built up to now and all their efforts from developing the platform, partnerships with game providers, up to the licensing will go to waste. I don't think they are willing to sacrifice all of that for the sake of tokens.

This is false. Although I still do not officially own it, my tokens are still in my dashboard and earning dividends. It's the same with all other players/miners. If I'm not mistaken, only lost bets using BFG and those auctioned are burned. I'm guessing you gambled your own BFG and lost it all that's why you're saying this.
