By the way, if by some miracle i can crack a password for the wallet, what are my legal claims on the bitcoins inside it? Technically i could claim that it was my wallet all along that i had forgotten, but what if someone else who has the actual private key would want them back and saw this as a hack?

So i guess what i am saying is that do the owners of these wallets even know that they are circulating around the internet?
