They said crypto is ban and they allow a national TV (Nigerian Television Authority) to read news on it and make a pundit analysis on it.
The Nigerian government never issued a 'complete' ban on cryptocurrencies, they just eliminated the link between Nigerian banks and crypto exchanges, thus making it impossible for Nigerians to either buy or sell crypto via an exchange using their credit/debit card, but P2p is still very much legal, as well as talking/discussing about Bitcoin, whether on national T.V or in local settings, T.V stations in Nigeria are free to give update on crypto.
It is laughable also that the apex bank (CBN), Central Bank of Nigeria is announcing to develop her own digital currency. Lol

. That's the Irony of the Nigerian crypto situation.
CBDC's are quite different from decentralized cryptocurrency, the Nigerian government and every other govt that have placed one form of ban or the other can work on launching CBDC's and it's not at all ironical cause they can control CBDC's, but not Bitcoin. It's similar with China and the digital Yuan and their negativity to Bitcoin.
