@JJ is that you?
Edit: Nah nah my bad that's not you... You're WO exclusive!!!
U be talkin about me, willis?
I am not exclusive WO.. but yeah, so far, I have not really been mixing my interwebs nym with my real life presences.. there does seem to be some value in keeping such opsec separation, even though there is some value with public and real life presentations, too..... Sometimes online nyms are brought into the public or they become public, and sure if someone is on a panel then frequently their image becomes known, and I understand that some of those conference (in person) events do attempt to allow people to keep their nyms separate if they so prefer, but since the conference is so BIG, there are likely going to be some of us WO peeps attending such event (maybe even a significant number).
Actually, have you noticed that my laser eye avatar in recent times probably also helps to cover up a certain amount of identifying characteristics, so there is that angle, too.
Well there’s difference in online and real life of course but I don’t know why specially here on bitcointalk why I feel it more exclusive. May be people like to follow Satoshi footsteps? Why so much secrecy? It’s ok I understand in start it was unclear.. Bitcoin was shrouded in mysteries and everyone thought Bitcoin is a darkweb money. But now things have changed... we have passed that long back now Bitcoin isn’t a thing to be scared any more. In fact now it’s a thing of a pride. The older and richer you are in Bitcoin you got more respect.
We can see this on other platforms too people have came out and are advocating Bitcoin openly. I think because of Bitcoin you don’t need to hide your identity any more. I’m not sure when things will change on Bitcointalk or will never change who knows.
This is my personal thinking of course you guys can disagree and I accept that. There are pros and cons of being anonymous here on “bitcointalk” and list of pros will be longer
