You can try to cancel your unconfirmed Bitcoin transaction using one of two strategies:

  1.  Replace by Fee (RBF)
   
  2.  Double spend using a higher fee

Some wallets implement the RBF protocol, which allows you to replace an old transaction with a new one that has a higher fee. Your transaction would be effectively unsticked as a result of this.

To use this feature, you'd have to make the original transaction replaceable first (usually via an opt-in checkbox).

If you can't use RBF, you can still cancel the Bitcoin transaction by double spending with a greater charge.

To do so, create a new transaction with an amount equal to the old one and send it to yourself. Ensure that the transaction cost is much larger than the one you paid previously.

For the transaction to be broadcast to the network, you may need to utilise another wallet or specialist software that supports double spending.

If everything goes well, the new transaction will be picked up by miners, and your Bitcoin will be returned to your wallet.
