I have a dog called Pazey, The first time I had to leave him alone at home, he ate my mom's foundation. when we came back home, at first we thought he was bleeding, but then we cleaned him up. He kept this pinkish color for about months and it looked cute. lol 
Made me laugh reading the end like pinkish cute dog. But yes on other not sad too ate the foundation which might hopefully not cause any issues to the health. Just if you can train them in a proper manner eventually they will be able to stay alone as well and as they understand us very well once you get connected.
