Elon bought a billion in bitcoin, which means that he wanted it to increase. I imagine Elon was even testing whether he could cause a permanent value increase. Bitcoin is at a higher value than when Tesla announced they had bought a billion.
Even if Elon sold, a successful entry like that would mean that he would enter again, if he made enough of a profit. This is actually good for bitcoin, because it will bring in more large investors who would aim to manipulate but would only move the price even further up.
