As a form of investment, many are buying cryptocurrency in smaller quantities and saving for their kids in the future. With the continuous rising and falling of the currency and the volatility of the market, how do we know the coins to buy and save for future use or is it a waste of money.

There is no better investment long-term than bitcoin. Bitcoin is the same bitcoin that was valued at a fraction of a cent each a little over a decade ago... when considering it now, why is it valued sooooo much higher? because it has been adopted by more people... but still relatively speaking, a very small percentage of the world population knows about crypto. A fraction of one percent.
So the question to ask in terms of whether bitcoin is a good investment or not, is this: do we think it's going to be known by more people or less people as time goes on?
There is nothing better that you can do for your kids in the long term than to invest for them in bitcoin.
