What if he still thinks about the risk of spending on a bonus buy and betting that big.  If he is a rich man, perhaps that amount of money would be a mere coin for him.  People like him who only have a lot of money can gamble and win a lot.  Maybe even if he loses, it seems like it's okay with him.  But congrats on his win, whoever he is.  It is possible that in his gambling journey, that win has not returned the total amount he spent.
