The prize is for some people who really luckiest to win the lottery and yes, their lives will change if they can win on that. But for the other people, hopefully, they can still get something from the government. Maybe that will not in the form of money, but something worth for their life. The lottery can still attract more people to volunteer themselves to get vaccinated.
4th set of winners have been annouced. Suzanne Ward received $1 million, while Sean Horning received the college sponsorship. The fourth week saw a total of 3,428,514 entries for the $1 million prize, and another 150,187 entries from those who are aged 12-17 (they are not allowed to participate in lotteries having cash prizes) for the college sponsorship draw. This was a great move from the governor (Mike DeWine). The lottery not only boosted the vaccination numbers in Ohio, but also created a hype all over the United States and many of the other states announced similar measures, encouraged by the success in Ohio.
If that lottery still continues, I think sooner or later, people will want to be vaccinated, which means more people will have a way to prevent the virus. The winner can get the money for their life and survive in this pandemic which really helps them solve their finances. The vaccine will help more people. If that succeeds, the other states might follow what they did and that program really helps their people to survive.
