That is a very wide generalization and it simply cannot be true, we know of many addresses that have a lot of coins barely moving so we know those coins are not lost and the ones that have them are just holding them and there are many people like that, but why we do not see more of those people in the news? Because that is not news, imagine that one of those people came and said I have not moved my coins for years and I am not doing it for the next years years either, that is not a news and everyone will ignore it, but if a whale says they are not selling until bitcoin reached one million then that is newsworthy.
