Respect to Salvador and it's president but one thing confuses me - will it be safe enough to hold bitcoin on the wallet built and controlled by government? I still believe that governments and hackers are the main threats to crypto community, may be I'm wrong putting them in a row.
The bill says that citizens are free to choose their preferred wallet. I think we shouldn't be worried about that right now. Let them increase adoption and let them use the gov wallet (developed by strike anyway).
Can't wait to see coinjoins and payjoins to buy everyday groceries.
According to what I read about the El Salvador Bitcoin law, using Bitcoin is optional but it mandatory as legal tender is concern and I believe the El Salvador's President said because of the people that don't support the Bitcoin movement in the country.
The use of the government wallet is also optional but those that make use of it are the one that is eligible to the $30 free Bitcoin and for the coinjoin etc it too early to decide on it.
