Volatility is profit opportunity for shorter term investors and meaningless for long term investors. Short term investors like volatility as it means there are more opportunities to snipe profit in any given timespan.
Exactly, with volatility, you can enter the market at a lower price even though the last time the prices were running wild and high that buying with your current money isn't going to be enough to make a profit if you aim for a short-term profit. I think the volatility is a big help for newbies because they basically can help you get to the market even though you feel like it's too late.
