Was the wallet encrypted with a password? My advice to you, is that you store a majority of your BTC in cold storage (just buy a raspberry pi and set one up for this purpose) and move amounts that are necessary to your hot wallet to spend. But don't keep a lot on your computer which is regularly connected to the internet.

Yeah but if they use a Pi that isn't connected to the internet then there is a nearly zero chance of bitcoins getting stolen.
