In the latest statement, President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador clarified that citizens will not be forced to use the government-issued "Chivo" Bitcoin wallet. Earlier news, El Salvador will launch the electronic wallet Chivo in September, and pre-deposit 30 US dollars in Bitcoin for those who download the wallet.
Wow, this is really cool. I wish my country government is going to also do the same thing and create a cryptocurrency wallet with a pre-deposit of thirty dollars ($30) in it. Lol I wouldn’t waste any time in installing that wallet. It is a really good move, although I know for sure that they are doing it to get a lot of people to start making use of the government issued wallet.
But, there are going to be people who will download the app and after they have gotten the money they will sell their coins and then leave the wallet to back to their other wallets that they have been using.
expect those things to happen. because once their people are oriented with bitcoin or in crypto, they will use other wallets that are not controlled by the government. in that way, their crypto transactions are not recorded by their govt. but the initial move is actually great for enticing its citizens to try and take a look at bitcoin. it will be like an initiation for them to know more about btc and other crypto. definitely, later on, once they learned more about crypto, they will opt for other personal wallets. bottomline, the move from the government still aid in the crypto adoption in their country.
