In my neck of the woods, if your vehicle is less than 4 years old insurance will give you full replacement value (based on $ amount of damage) or original parts only if small damage.

I figure I will spend about 4-6 grand but the car will be 'new' vs 14 months old and have a new warranty.
the optima became the k5 nice car. maybe color blue this time.
I can deal with a 4-6 k hit a lot better than a couple of broken legs.
