spy100 question and example shows that he does not own land or any kind of property. If he had them, he would know that every year he must pay immovable property tax or location value tax (LVT). Also, you cant just buy land and do nothing with it (at least in my country). You should mow grass, keep it clean (otherwise locals will turn it into a junkyard) and etc. All these expenses will eat all the dividends.
spy100 offers to "dry grass, make fire, generate energy". This wont come out of nowhere. spy100 must spend money first on equipment to produce that. How many years need to be passed for such investment to be paid off ?
With crypto, in most of the cases it is enough just to buy and hold to get profit.
You can dry the weed for free by leaving it to sun as well, it is just man hours that is spent by collecting it and leaving it to dry on the sun. However it is a stupid argument, same as "if I spend my money to manufacture something, I get a return, what does crypto in return creates?" and has been a talk for years.
People assume that you have to invest into something that generates something for the world, in that case we shouldn't invest into gold neither, because gold is gold and many people just buy gold bricks and hold them and sell them and that's it, nothing more, they do not buy it to make something more valuable out of it neither. Stock market is not that much different, even though it is totally based on corporations, but it is still not doing anything to earn money, you just buy hold and gain. Crypto is no different and it is still logical to invest because its decentralized.
