It should continue to be until September, but it's not safe to keep using V2 addresses. At this point it's safer to use clearnet with a VPN for IP masking.
To be precise Tor Browser should be supporting v2 addresses until 15 October 2021 since they will upgrade the browser to use Tor > 0.4.x.
Anyway, I notice the v2 technical problem on
https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-dev/2020-June/014365.html. Does it is indeed safer to use clearnet with VPN for IP masking?
I don't know why it's taking ChipMixer so long to upgrade, but hopefully he does so soon. Maybe while he's at it he'll upgrade to SegWit addresses also.

I believe it surely Chipmixer will migrate to v3 before Tor Browser not supporting the v2 address.
So when will ChipMixer move to v3 onion service?
Plan was to add v3 around middle of May 2021. It did not happen. External dead lines are:
July 15th, 2021
0.4.6.x: Tor will no longer support v2 and support will be removed from the code base.
October 15th, 2021
We will release new Tor client stable versions for all supported series that will disable v2.
