Recently, China is moving away from the fossil fuel-based mining industry, which helps to gradually solve the environmental problems of BTC. 56% of the global BTC mining business is conducted using green energy.
I would not agree with the way you wrote this, because first of all, China completely bans the mining of cryptocurrencies, which is part of their policy, which they officially announced in 2019.
On Monday, China’s central state planner, the National Development and Reform Commission, included cryptocurrency mining in a list of 450 wasteful and hazardous activities slated for elimination...The proposed ban, which was originally reported by the South China Morning Post, could come into force after a public comment period ending May 7...The proposal, if enacted, could take time to have much impact, says Katherine Wu, an independent crypto industry analyst. She notes that this is different from past cryptocurrency clampdowns, which took more direct action.
But research has shown that a large proportion of miners in China have used exactly the energy obtained from hydro sources - so one has to wonder what kind of energy they will use now, especially those who migrate to countries like Kazakhstan where 70% of energy comes from coal-fired power plants. China was not a problem in terms of dirty energy (exclusively), but because many objected to them centralizing Bitcoin - now on-duty critics will have to find a new target.
