indeed ,scarce is the key word,its because of stuff like this in the future that i strongly believe that we will hit the $1M mark !! 
We'll consider those lost bitcoins forever as burned bitcoins and they help to make the value of bitcoin more significant and better because of those that cannot be retrieved forever.Plus if this hodlers really want to make the prices more scarce then why not put burn it then?
You don't want to burn your own bitcoin because it's already valuable. We think of those lost bitcoins as the burnt bitcoins and they're lost forever but there's no one that's going to volunteer to burn their bitcoins unless it's just for small amounts.
