As a unique energy buyer, the Bitcoin network will accelerate the renewable transformation of global energy. If the Bitcoin mining method is combined with renewable energy production and storage, it is particularly suitable for accelerating the transformation of energy. Bitcoin miners are unique energy buyers because they provide a highly flexible and easily adjustable interruptible load.
I'm all pro-Bitcoin and support clean energy, but I don't think there's a connection here, honestly. Bitcoin miners need electricity, just like computers, electric cars and many other things in contemporary world do. And just like the rest of things that require electricity, they don't require specifically clean energy sources and those operating companies often don't care about the sources of energy. So it's not like Bitcoin mining stimulates development and adoption of clean energy because miners just take whatever electricity's given to them, regardless of its sources.
I think big miners will like clean energy like solar panels to power up their gears and consuming very little energy.Small miners do not care what kind of energy they are using, they just need to power up their gears and generate cryptocurrencies. There are countries with excess energy that export this energy to other countries, lately in these very same countries people are trying to make the most out of it by building up mining farms near small hydro-electric plants. One thing is sure, clean or not the energy, the mining will continue for a long time from now.
