It is actually because of their ignorance that they attack bitcoin. They have always been against bitcoinand they look out for every opportunity to slander or paint bitcoin in bad light.
However,  they do not even know what bitcoin not to mention understanding how the market works .
If you'd ask me, I'd say leave them to it. What they don't really understand is the fact that whether good or bad, publicity is publicity. They are only helping to propagate the news of bitcoin even though they think they are doing the opposite.
