However, my call to the Central Bank is that you should start working on that development.

In 2018, BoT has warned the public to act with extreme caution when trading in cryptocurrencies.

“BoT considers the recent surge in the prices of cryptocurrencies to be driven by speculation. The risk of a sharp reduction in prices is high. Investors in cryptocurrencies should be aware that they run the risk of losing all their capital,” the Central Bank of Tanzania said.
Based on Bot's previous stance on cryptocurrencies as a whole and the part I've highlighted in yellow, is it safe to assume that she was referring to them introducing their own CBDC as opposed to using BTCitcoin or other cryptocurrencies?
CDBC is more or less just digital money then. There isn't really any reason to be happy about it. Just the crypto developers would get more jobs around the world. Moreover, for smaller countries like Tanzania, I think even such a plan would more or less remain a joke. Tanzania is a pretty small country and also at the same time a pretty poor country, when their banking infrastructure isn't properly developed, moving onto CDBC would be a joke for them. People still use a hell of lot of cash notes there, CDBC is more possible and feasible for countries that have a high percentage of transactions through banks.
