Curiosity about something is normal in this world and it is not pointless at all. The same happen when many people ask who is Satoshi Nakamoto, we are curious who is him, where is him, how rich is he and the discussion will never stop till they get the answer or at least a clue.
Whereby it has to be said that the person behind Satoshi is "slightly" more important than a high roller on a crypto platform 
But in principle I'm with you, I also understand why people are curious and want to know who the person is, if only to be able to say "I've already chatted with him!".
