I always thought people who couldn't walk away while being up is a good sign of being addicted.  I hear all the time how much people won but they didn't walk away they chucked it right back down on something else.  If you only use winnings to bet on something else you never ever see a profit.  That to me is a major issue.
It happens all the time and for me, it's really a good sign for gambling addiction. For real, there are those who just come there for their daily bread you know, to have some sense of hope on what is to come so as to live through the day while, there are others who are just so into gambling that, the gambling hall almost seems like there home. These persons that are the ones that, even when they win some, the tend to chuck it right back even because, they just don't know when to live. They start winning and then greed sets in to keep them playing and before you know what's going on, they start loosing again. The trend continues, day after day and they learn nothing of it. That's a good sign of gambling addiction.

I mean it happens to anyone that is actively gambling.  I do think expect someone to sit at the blackjack table and if they win the first hand walk and go home.  I'm talking about constantly just laying money in and never going to permanently cash some out.

...

In fact is not really about walking away if you win the first round or even if you win 5 rounds or loose 10 rounds. Is much more about having a full control of what is happening with you mind and your wallet. If in trouble, just devise a self warning like - if I have lost more than x I will walk or if I stay more than 2 hours I will walk. This is much more effective than thinking of walking only if you have lost, because addiction comes actually from feeling well about those few wins that you remember above losses.
